Checking the PLC grounding system:

In the first step, the first thing that should be checked is the wiring and ground connection of the PLC device. Diagnosis of its connections is done by a digital multimeter. Therefore, any loose and worn connections should be repaired.

Power supply test:

In the next stage of PLC repair, if its processor has an AC power supply, we will check the input voltage of the power supply. But in fact, the PLC processor works with DC power, and for this reason, the outputs of the DC power supply must be measured. In general, power supply problems are caused by blackouts and power cuts, worn cables and improper connections.

Measure the voltages of each battery:

The voltage of this device must match the recommended values ​​of the manufacturer. In this device, the battery is used to prevent the loss of PLC programs during a power cut. This is why measuring battery voltages is so important.

Processor module:

One of the parts that should be paid attention to when repairing a PLC is the processor module. The main task of the processor is to check possible errors. As a result, after checking the current status, it sends it to the display in front of the processor module. One of the signs of failure of PLC modules is the end of activity or irregular operation of the PLC control system.

Communication problem:

In order to function better, the PLC system must communicate with the devices connected and around it. The presence of any problem in this connection will cause the system to malfunction. For this reason, it is better to regularly check PLC systems by an expert engineer in this field.

Processor status during repair:

The status of the processor can be checked with programmed software and the errors of the processor can be shown in this way. The display of LED status lights on the processor each indicates the errors that we will examine below.

green light:

The display of this light means that the process is running. It actually shows the process of transferring the program from RAM to the memory module.

FLT light:

When this light blinks, it means a big error has occurred. This error can be in memory and processor. If this light is constantly on, it means a fatal error.

BATT light:

This error is shown when the battery voltage drops below its threshold or when the battery is not connected.
